The Center for Governance Middle East | North Africa focuses on the region in Middle East and North Africa. Its main goal is to unite stakeholders from politics, economics and civil society to work together on creative solutions for pressing societal issues and put sustainable, democratic politics (good governance) into action.
The Center was founded in the summer of 2012 and is headed by Professor Udo Steinbach. It is a hub for Good Governance in the region. It focuses on societies in North Africa and the Middle East that are on their way to participatory democracy and are desperately looking for solutions for the upheaval and changes taking place.
The Center is also a consultant for initiatives that aim at supporting and strengthening democracies in their countries.
