Trialog Report: “Building renovation – not just good for the climate. What are the additional benefits worth?”
The trialogue “Building renovation – not just good for the climate. What are the additional benefits worth?” marked the start of the 15-month project “Additional benefits as drivers of energetic building renovation”. The project is implemented jointly by the HUMBOLDT-VIADRINA Governance Platform and the Buildings Performance Institute Europe and funded by the German Federal Environment Foundation.
In a trialogue, stakeholders from politics and administration, business, civil society, science and the media discussed the question of which non-energetic benefits are relevant in a building renovation and how these can be made measurable for the stakeholders. A key result of the discussion was that a new profitability calculation will be needed in the future, which also takes additional benefits into account. At the same time, new communication strategies are required in order to communicate the various benefits to the target groups.
The report with further details is available in German.
