On April 26 and April 27, 2017, we held the first two trialogs of the series ‘participation in housing construction’. Urban conflicts around new buidling and densification as well as chances and limits of participation were collected and structured in the discussion, in order to arrive at a shared understanding of the problems and challenges and to derive requirements for participation procedures.

The events were analyzed on the basis of transcripts of the discussions. The main focus of the analysis was to present diverging positions and their justifications and to identify possible consensus corridors between participants as well as framework conditions and criteria for participation in housing construction.

This protocol summarizes the results of the first two trialogs. For the following third trialog of the series ‘access to and structures of participation’ on June 23, 2017, it serves as the basis for discussion.

It is a learning document for the purpose of preparing guidelines for participation.
