2. International Conference of the Fisheries Transparency Initiative (FiTI)

The one-day international conference will gather approximately 300 representatives of governments, businesses, civil society, international organizations, donors and media to highlight the importance of transparency and participation in a sector that is an important source of livelihood for coastal countries all around the world. Amongst others, the conference will:

• Adopt the global FiTI Standard;
• Launch the first International Board of the FiTI
• Exchange learnings with FiTI pilot countries; and
• Welcome commitments from other stakeholders.
