Re:Match Project – Digital Kick-Off Event for Municipalities

People fleeing from the war in Ukraine will continue to represent a major challenge for local politics in Europe. In addition to other refugee movements, a further influx of people seeking protection from Ukraine is expected this winter. The question of the exact capacities, needs and individual profiles of municipalities is coming into focus all the more. How can they be taken into account as best as possible in the reception of further protection seekers?

The project Re:Match aims to pilot a matching mechanism for refugees from Ukraine and German municipalities and thus offer a solution to the challenges in the reception and (European) relocation of these people. For this purpose, criteria such as communal infrastructure, housing and labour market, as well as family ties should be be considered when relocating people from Ukraine. Matching intends to enable both an individualized and needs-oriented reception of protection seekers as well as a greater say for German municipalities.

Re:Match wants to work closely with 10 to 15 German municipalities to develop relevant criteria for an algorithm-based matching procedure and to match 100 to 150 people with partner municipalities in the best possible way. We are looking for municipalities who want to engage in a innvative concept with us !
