Trialog Future Cities (Minsk, Belarus)
2. October 2019 - 6. October 2019
From the 2nd – 6th of October the HUMBOLDT-VIADRINA Governance Platform and the Belarussian Union of Architects (BUA) will organise a two-day German-Belarusian Trialog on “The Future of the City” in Minsk. At the event, eight urban development experts from Berlin are invited to come and discuss urban development with local experts.
The trip intends to stimulate an exchange of expertise and experience in sustainable urban development between the cities of Minsk and Berlin. The project brings together experts in urban development and citizen participation to discuss, inter alia, the practical implementation of citizen participation and how such monitoring and consultation processes can be handled fairly and openly.
Together with 50 local stakeholders from organized civil society, politics and administration and business, the two-day event will discuss the current challenges of urban development in Minsk. The existing collective experience of the eight German experts should lead to conceptual proposals that allow a change of perspective and encourage practical solutions.
The Trialog Days will consist of several formats, such as workshops, lectures and discussion rounds, so that a lively exchange of ideas with the participating stakeholder groups is possible. Another part of the trip will consist of a guided architectural city tour and a visit to the Federal Office of Minsk.
The 3-day trip is intended for experts involved in urban development and citizen participation. Especially knowledge in the field of participatory processes in sustainable urban development, developmental planning, social and sustainable construction, green space design and district management of economically and socially disadvantaged neighborhoods is desired. Applicants should also be keen for a cultural and professional exchange with local Belarusian experts.
The exchange project is funded by the Federal Foreign Office.
Flight, hotel costs and meals are covered by the project.
