Trialog “Sustainable on the Road – Making Mobility Attractive Now”
19. June 2019 @ 9:30 - 17:00
The Trialog “Sustainable on the Road – Making Mobility Attractive Now” takes place in cooperation with the Mobility Working Group of the Science Platform Sustainability 2030, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Its task is to provide scientific support for the implementation of the “Agenda 2030” and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Germany, and to provide innovative impulses in the direction of politics and society as well as science and education.
The AG Mobility of the Science Platform Sustainability 2030 addresses the challenges for a change towards sustainable mobility, because “to be on the road” plays a role central role in societies worldwide: as basic human need, for the exchange of goods, but also as an expression of quality of life. The downside: on the whole, people’s mobility devours massive amounts of finite resources, and their emissions pollute the climate, air quality and health. The goals agreed in the Paris Climate Agreement require swift and comprehensive action, especially in the transport sector. The question of how sustainable transport and mobility systems should be designed in the future is not purely technical. In the future it will also be a question of whether and how the user behavior can be changed, which possibilities of mobility are accepted and further developed and which tensions arise, for example in relation to competition for space usage or health and how these can be solved.
The AG Mobility would like to discuss with you and other actors from politics & administration, business, organized civil society, science and media.
The event will be held in German. The number of participants in the Trialog is limited. Click here to register.
