Sven Biermann is Co-Founder and Shareholder of the HUMBOLDT-VIADRINA Governance Platform gGmbH. Between July 2014 and January 2020, Mr. Biermann served also as the Managing Director of the organisation.

Currently, Mr. Biermann is the Executive Director of the International Secretariat of the Fisheries Transparency Initiative (FiTI), based in the Seychelles.

Sven studied finance/taxes/auditing at the technical college in Trier/Germany, where he graduated in 1998. Sven obtained (FH) also a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a Major in Information Management from the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota/USA.

Throughout his more than 15 years of professional experiences, Sven has been focusing on practical and sustainable solutions for good governance, corporate social responsibility, Business intelligence, risk management and business integrity. In 2012/13 Sven served as the Senior Advisor to the United Nations Global Compact 10th principle (anti-corruption).

Prior to this position, Sven spent almost 10 years with the global consulting company Accenture as well as multiple years as the Director of Anti-Corruption projects at the HUMBOLDT-VIADRINA School of Governance.
