Tim Bittiger

Biography

Tim Bittiger has dedicated his professional career to transparency, governance and democratic processes, with a focus on sub-Saharan Africa. In particular, he has specialised in multi-stakeholder dialogue, natural resource management and financial accountability, and has held senior management and advisory roles as Regional Director for Francophone Africa in the EITI International Secretariat (2007-14) and as Coordinator of the Office of EITI Founding Chair Prof. Peter Eigen (2007-11), and has advised EITI processes in Mauritania, Togo and Germany, as well as the Fisheries Transparency Initiative (FiTI). Since January 2022, he has headed the international secretariat of the Local Electricity Access Programme - LEAP Transparency and is responsible for the implementation of the LEAP in Senegal as project manager.
