Katja Treichel is the Program Director Energy Trialogs. Katja supports the stakeholder dialogue about current and future questions of the energy transition and deals with further developing transdisciplinary formats and multi-stakeholder processes. Katja joined the HUMBOLDT-VIADRINA Governance Platform in October 2014.
Katja studied Political Sciences at Potsdam University and Leiden University (Netherlands) with a focus on international relations.
She worked several years as project manager at the Institute for European Politics (IEP), where she gained many experiences in conceptualizing and implementing training-programs for the EU approximation of the public administration of several candidate countries as well as in organizing European regional conferences and study trips. She could draw on the organizational and communicative skills she learned as project assistant in various GIZ training workshops in South-East-Asia.
Her interest in energy politics was initiated by her postgraduate studies in “Public and corporate environmental management” at the Freie Universität Berlin. It was enhanced by her responsibility at the IEP to further develop an online-course on European energy and climate policy for Master students from Central Asia.
