Trialog with the “Science Platform Sustainability 2030” for the Working Group on Mobility (April 15, 2019 – August 31, 2019)
Together with the Working Group Mobility of the Science Platform Sustainability 2030, the HUMBOLDT-VIADRINA Governance Platform is organising the Trialog “Sustainable on the Road – Making Mobility Attractive Now “.
The AG Mobility addresses the challenges of transforming the transport sector. Mobility plays a central role in societies worldwide: as a basic human need, for the exchange of goods, but also as an expression of quality of life. The downside: people’s mobility devours massive amounts of finite resources, and their emissions pollute the climate, air quality and health. The goals agreed in the Paris Climate Agreement and the 2030 Agenda require swift and comprehensive action, especially in the transport sector.
In a Trialog, the Working Group will exchange views with actors from politics & administration, business, organized civil society, science and the media.
About the Science Platform:
The “Science Platform Sustainability 2030” (WPN 2030) was founded in 2017 and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Its task is to provide scientific support for the implementation of the “Agenda 2030” and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Germany, and to provide innovative impulses in the direction of politics and society as well as science and education. With a view to central challenges of sustainable development, it is intended to bring together various branches of science and actors in scientific policy advice with social and political actors and facilitate exchange. Thematic priorities in 2018 and 2019 include sustainable consumption, the future of work, (global) common goods and mobility. For this purpose, appropriate working groups have been set up.
