Sebastian Wegner

Biography

Sebastian Wegner is Senior Coordinator for Climate Transparency at the Berlin Governance Platform. He has been working at the Platform since May 2015.

Sebastian is an economics graduate with many years of experience in governance, anti-corruption, transparency and climate action. He has particular expertise and experience in the design and implementation of multi-stakeholder partnerships as well as advocacy and country assessment systems.

He has coordinated the activities of Climate Transparency since the partnership was founded in 2014 and is primarily responsible for fundraising, strategic development of the initiative as well as financial planning, negotiations, controlling and personnel planning.

He has also been instrumental in conceptualising and implementing global multi-stakeholder partnerships such as the Fisheries Transparency Initiative (FiTI), piloting the Alliance for Integrity in India and Transparency International's Business Integrity Country Agenda (BICA).

Previously, Sebastian worked for the HUMBOLDT-VIADRINA Governance School for over three years on a Siemens Integrity Initiative project and was an external consultant for various organisations, including the Convention on Business Integrity, the German Global Compact Network, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Transparency International and the World Bank.
