Municipalities with up to 50,000 inhabitants can now apply to take part in the pilot project Municipal Development Councils. Between May 2022 and October 2023, the pilot project will support four partner municipalities in setting up a Municipal Development Advisory Council. Representatives from politics/administration, civil society and business will discuss a topic relevant to the future and develop concrete recommendations for action for local decision-making bodies. The process is closely supported by the HUMBOLDT-Viadrina Governance Platform team and guided by a local coordination and moderation team.
