Daphne Büllesbach is for the Berlin Governance Platform as freelance consultant for the tri-logue process on inheritance tax. She is also on the expert advisory board Municipal Development Councils active.
Daphne has been leading the establishment of Initiative for Democratic Science to promote democratic resilience in the higher education and research sector in Germany. She was vfrom 2020 to 2025 Managing Director of the Berlin Governance Platform. Previously, she led a Europe-wide civil society organisation European Alternativeswhich researches and promotes transnational politics and culture. Among other things, she was curator of the politics and art festival Transeuropa Festival (Palermo 2019, Madrid 2017, Belgrade 2015) and founded the School of Transnational Organising.
She also works in other contexts at the interface of science, politics and advocacy on structures for a resilient democracy that grows with the challenges of socio-ecological transformation. To this end, she also appears in public or writes and speaks on the radio and at conferences (International Literature Festival Berlin, re:publica, phoenix, DLF). In 2017, she co-edited the book Shifting Baselines of Europe at the transcript publishing house.
She studied European Studies and Social and Political Sciences at King's College London, Sciences-Po Paris and the University of Cambridge.
