Interactive participation atlas on municipal citizen participation in Lusatia published

The Project "Municipal citizen participation in Lusatia"funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), focussed on the question of what role citizen participation can play at municipal level in the structural change process in Lusatia.

As part of a qualitative study, existing municipal participation processes in Lusatia were evaluated together with representatives of individual municipalities and opportunities and challenges for municipal participation in the context of structural change were filtered out. The key question here was which formats are best suited to promoting long-term municipal development in Lusatia and participation that increases self-efficacy, while at the same time integrating these into overarching contexts, obligations and agreements in a coherent manner.

The results were recorded online in a freely accessible, interactive participation atlas.
