Building on international experience, the Berlin Governance Platform aims to pilot an algorithm-based matching mechanism for the relocation of refugees from Ukraine to Germany, thereby contributing to a solution for the challenges in the reception and (European) redistribution of refugees from Ukraine.
For the 14-month pilot project Re:Match, a matching procedure is to be developed in a first step in close cooperation with German city administrations, international matching experts and Polish partner organizations. This is to be used in a second step to distribute refugees from Ukraine who are currently in Poland to German host communities individually and according to their needs by means of an algorithm-supported matching.
