Biography

Katja Wagner has been leading the Re:Match project since January 2023, which is piloting an innovative model for a better, human rights-based and more sustainable distribution of people seeking protection in Europe.

Katja has a degree in business law. She has extensive expertise in the planning, financing and management of complex projects and is adept at initiating and consolidating cross-sectoral cooperation and networks with partners. Katja has worked on various topics including social cohesion and gender equality in project and funding work. Most recently, she was part of the management team of a civilian sea rescue organisation, where she was instrumental in securing the legal framework and funding for a new rescue ship to operate in the Mediterranean. Katja is a Fellow and Mentor in the Social Entrepreneurship Leadership Programme On Purpose.
