The Municipal Development Council Hoyerswerda has developed a harmonised and broadly supported overall concept for the "green fringe". The "green fringe" is a contiguous green area that extends around the old and new town centres of Hoyerswerda and is to be developed into a coherent recreational and adventure area. In addition to the overall concept, the Municipal Development Advisory Board has developed concrete designs, cost estimates and financing ideas for individual measures. The result can be a good basis for concrete implementation.
The recommendations of the Hoyerswerda Municipal Development Advisory Board were drawn up in four meetings between February and September 2023. In October 2023, the recommendations were ceremoniously presented to the Lord Mayor at a tree planting event. In November 2023, the Hoyerswerda City Council adopted the recommendations by a large majority and commissioned their implementation; a municipal implementation advisory board is accompanying this process.
Hoyerswerda was a partner municipality in the pilot project Municipal Development Councils - Shaping the future together locally from 2022-2023.
