Jan Lachenmayer has been responsible for the operational management of the Berlin Governance Platform since April 2025. He is working on the operational further development of the organisation as well as on strengthening implementation capability and internal structure.

Before joining the Governance Platform, Jan was, among other things, Managing Director at enpact e.V. There he was responsible for international programmes, as well as cooperation with partners and funders in the areas of governance, democracy, migration, economic development, and international cooperation.

Jan has also founded and led several organisations and entrepreneurial initiatives. His work always focuses on the connection between social impact and economic viability, particularly with regard to the collaboration between civil society, businesses, and innovation actors. He is actively involved as the Chairman of the Board of German Indian Innovation Corridor (GIIC) e.V.

He studied Politics, Economics and Business Administration at the University of Stuttgart. When he's not pondering organisational development issues or in discussion with sponsors, he's likely to be found in the dance studio: Jan has been passionately dancing and teaching Brazilian Zouk for over twenty years.
