The bilateral project "Cities for Citizens" brings together German and Belarusian experts from politics & administration, business and organized civil society in Trialog ® to contribute their collective knowledge to the current urban planning discussions and to jointly design the city of the future.
It is a long way from the progressive, cultural city of Berlin to Minsk, with its socialist-influenced magnificent buildings. But it is precisely these differences that promise a particularly interesting exchange of urban development stakeholders. Our urban development projects use a multi-stakeholder approach to develop viable solutions for the future.
With increasing urbanization, cities play a key role in our overall social development. In order to respond adequately to global problems such as climate change and to improve the quality of life of the entire population in the long term, sustainable and democratically organized urban concepts are essential. In this context, it is also important to empower and strengthen citizens in their role as development actors. After all, they are the ones who determine in practice what living together will look like in the future.
