Duisburg-Hochfeld is facing major challenges: dilapidated infrastructure, high environmental pollution, changes in the resident population. The neighbourhood reflects the consequences of structural change in the Ruhr region.
The Municipal Development Council the City of Duisburg has taken on the task of developing recommendations for action to improve the quality of life in the neighbourhood. In a joint process, concrete ideas were developed to rethink mobility and public spaces. The result: a practical recommendation document that now serves the city council as a guideline for sustainable urban development.
