The Research Atlas"Social Cohesion" visualizes the current research activities on the topic of social cohesion in the research area of Berlin. The project was developed within the framework of the priority area Fostering Knowledge Exchange of the Berlin University Alliance (BUA). The research activities of the BUA therefore play a key role in the Research Atlas. In addition, it also adresses the research needs expressed by society in the subject field. This makes it possible to identify current research priorities, social topics and new links. Possible research needs also become visible.
The Research Atlas aims to contribute to a better understanding of the Berlin research area on social cohesion. Social cohesion is part of diverse and lively debates - this explains the broad spectrum of topics and the diverse aspects in which social cohesion can be studied and which are visualized in the Research Atlas. The atlas shows in detail where the focus of university and non-university research on social cohesion in Berlin is located and what research needs are formulated by society but also by the scientific community.
The research atlas is part of the Grand Challenge Forum Social Cohesionwhich accompanies the first Grand Challenge Initiative of the BUA. The Berlin Governance Platform was assigned by the BUA with the technical and content-related implementation of the Research Atlas.
