The bilateral project "Cities for Citizens" brings together German and Belarusian experts from politics & administration, business and organised civil society in Trialogue ® to contribute their collective knowledge to current urban planning discussions and to jointly design the city of the future.
It is a long way from the progressive cultural city of Berlin to Minsk with its socialist-influenced magnificent buildings. But it is precisely these differences that promise a particularly interesting exchange between urban development stakeholders. Our projects in the field of Urban Development utilise a multi-stakeholder approach to develop sustainable solutions for the future.
With increasing urbanisation, cities play a key role in our overall social development. Sustainable and democratically organised urban concepts are essential in order to respond adequately to global problems such as climate change and to improve the quality of life of the entire population in the long term. It is also important to empower and strengthen citizens in their role as development actors. After all, they are the ones who will determine in practice what living together will look like in the future.
